On 14th December 2023, Mumbai: Evergreen romantic movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai featuring Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul, Kajol as Anjali and Rani Mukerji as Tina. Recently, Kajol revealed that she wants to play the role of Tina which is played by Rani Mukerji in the movie, but Karan Johar refused Kajol’s request and told her to play Anjali’s role.
Karan Johar Refused Kajol’s Request
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of the most popular and heart touching movie starring Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul, Kajol as Anjali and Rani Mukerji as Tina. Recently, Kajol shared that she wanted to play the role of Tina not the Anjali, but Tina’s role played by Rani Mukerji as per the makers. Kajol expressed her concern about the role, but Karan Johar turned down her request.
Kajol Fought With Karan Johar For Tina’s Role
Kajol said, “I fought in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I fought with Karan Johar, I wanted to play Tina’s role and he was like, ‘No. You are playing Anjali.’ I was like, ‘But I want to play Tina’s role. You don’t know what I will do with Tina.’ Karan told me to shut up. I fought with him tooth and nail for 45 minutes but he refused categorically.”

Recently, Kajol and Rani Mukerji appeared on Koffee with Karan 8, Rani Mukerji shared about how she considers Kajol as didi. Kajol didi used to stay in town and we were in Juhu. Me and Tanisha were much closer and we are still. But Kajol didi was always closer to the boys of the family. So, it was a bit strange,” said Rani Mukerji.
