China Asks US: The Bell on a Tiger's Neck Can Only be Untied By the Person Who Tied It
When two giants disagree, the world feels the pressure

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] April 13: In a strong and clear message, China’s commerce ministry has asked the United States to take back all reciprocal tariffs. This demand came after President Trump removed taxes from phones, laptops, and other gadgets. China believes that both countries should work with equal respect. They feel that the US has taken steps that disturb fair business. China now wants the US to correct this step and behave with fairness in global trade.
What Did Trump Announce?
Recently, the Trump administration said some Chinese electronics won’t face extra taxes. Items like smartphones and computers were removed from the list. This news brought some relief to big tech companies. However, China is not fully satisfied. Many of their products are still facing high taxes. China thinks this small change is not enough. They want the entire plan to be changed and believe real respect means cancelling all tariffs.
China’s Historic Saying and Strong Reply
China used a thoughtful saying: “The bell on a tiger's neck can only be untied by the person who tied it.” This means that only the US can fix what they started. China is urging the US to accept its mistake. These tariffs were first brought during Trump’s time, and China has always been against them. From past to present, trade between these two countries has had many ups and downs, but this time, China seems firmer.
A Trade War Getting Bigger
This argument is not new. The US and China have been fighting over trade for years now. On Friday, China raised its own taxes on US goods. Earlier it was 84%, now it's 125%. The US had already made duties up to 145% on Chinese items. It’s like a game where both sides keep increasing the numbers. This back-and-forth is not good for businesses or people in either country.
China Seeks Global Support
China is now trying to bring more countries to its side. They are saying that Trump’s way of handling trade is unfair. China is calling this style “economic bullying.” While asking the US to be fair, China is also making new friends in business from other countries. In their words, they will not stop defending their rights. If the US keeps hurting China’s business, they will fight back with full power and energy.
