England Beat West Indies to Get to Semifinals First

England played well with both bat and ball to defeat West Indies by 38 runs. They are the first team to make it to the semifinals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. England was too strong for the West Indies in a match between two teams that had not lost yet. They kept winning all their games in the tournament.

England scored 186 runs when they batted first. Then they stopped West Indies from scoring many runs, restricting them to 148. This helped England win the game in front of their home crowd.

The game started with Amy Jones hitting two boundaries in the first over. Then, Chinelle Henry got her out in the same over. This did not slow down England. Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge started hitting shots again and put pressure on the West Indies bowlers. Dunkley got out after a good start, but Wyatt-Hodge kept playing well.

Heather Knight joined the game and hit a boundary on her very first ball. Wyatt-Hodge and Knight worked together and scored a lot of runs. Wyatt-Hodge reached her fifty in 32 balls and kept going. She scored 65 runs, which was the best performance in England's innings.

England finished strongly and scored 41 runs in the last four overs. The West Indies bowlers took a few wickets, but England had already posted a big total.

West Indies had to score a lot of runs to win, but they did not play well. Their openers struggled, and England's bowlers were too good. Captain Hayley Matthews tried to change the game, but she got out in a controversial manner. She was not happy and left the field disappointed.

Deandra Dottin tried to score some quick runs, but England's bowler Charlie Dean got her out. This made it even harder for the West Indies to win. Sophie Ecclestone dismissed another batter, and Jannillea Glasgow got out soon after. West Indies needed too many runs, and it became impossible for them to make a comeback.

Chinelle Henry played well and scored an unbeaten 51 runs, but it was not enough. England won the game and became the first team to reach the semifinals. They are now among the favourites to win the Women's T20 World Cup.

Brief Scores:
England 186/7 (Danni Wyatt-Hodge 65, Heather Knight 43; Ashmini Munisar 2/42) beat West Indies 148/5 (Chinelle Henry 51*; Charlie Dean 2/31) by 38 runs.
