Surya to Leave MI? Uthappa Predicts KKR Return & Gambhir Reunion

Suryakumar Yadav is a star batter. Uthappa believes Suryakumar Yadav’s departure from the Mumbai Indians to return to join the Kolkata Knight Riders could eventually lead the Kolkata side again. That has been a subject of heated debate for fans who are all the rage for the next IPL season to come.

Suryakumar Yadav’s Recent Struggles

Recently, Suryakumar Yadav has had a tough time. He plays in the T20 batters department of India and was not picked for some of the national games. He also did badly in the IPL 2023.

He even stopped following the Mumbai Indians for a period of time on social media; this led to speculation that in the meantime he was having problems in relation to the team.

We're not sure for sure if he is leaving but people still talk about what will happen to Suryakumar Yadav.

Robin Uthappa’s Prediction on KKR Return

There was some prediction made by Robin Uthappa. Suryakumar Yadav could go back to the Kolkata Knight Riders, he said.

Suryakumar Yadav had played for the Kolkata Knight Riders. If he went back, it would definitely be good for Suryakumar Yadav and the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Kolkata Knight Riders may be in search of a leader now. Their leadership hasn’t been great so they may want someone with more familiarity like Suryakumar Yadav.

Possible Reunion with Gautam Gambhir

Uthappa also discussed Gautam Gambhir. He feels Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav might also be able to work together again at the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Gautam Gambhir used to coach the team; he may go back to the Kolkata Knight Riders as a coach or mentor. If that happens, Suryakumar Yadav might be the team leader again.

Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav have had earlier professional roles with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Gautam Gambhir assisted Suryakumar Yadav as a younger player. He had even handed him a leadership role.

Future in Franchise Cricket

Suryakumar Yadav can continue for years in cricket as a franchise, Robin Uthappa thinks. He is able to compete extremely well with the T20 format.

He would not be as successful getting back into Indian national T20. So the team has players and different rules. So Uthappa believes Suryakumar Yadav will be a player of immense worth for the IPL for a long time to come.
