Amendments to the Jammu and Kashmir Acts

The Union Home Minister will introduce a bill in the Lok Sabha aimed at amending the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, and the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000. These amendments are scheduled for consideration and passage.

Legislative Proceedings in the Rajya Sabha

In the Rajya Sabha, discussions on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address will resume during the ongoing Budget Session. Additionally, Union Minister Arjun Munda is set to present the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024. This bill seeks to modify the list of Scheduled Tribes in Andhra Pradesh and will be deliberated upon for its consideration and passage.

Suspension of Rules for Bill Consideration

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi will move a motion in the Rajya Sabha to suspend Rule 17 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. This motion aims to facilitate the consideration and passing of several bills, including the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024; and the Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

Amendments to the Water Pollution Control Act

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav will introduce the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Bill, 2024, in the Rajya Sabha. This bill proposes amendments to the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and will be presented for consideration and passage.

Prime Minister Modi’s Address in Lok Sabha

During his recent address in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in his government’s performance and prospects. He highlighted significant achievements, including the construction of the Ram Temple and the abolition of Article 370.
