4th November 2023, Mumbai: Alia Bhatt is one of the best actresses in the Bollywood industry and has hit back to back blockbusters with jaw drop performances. She has accomplished a lot in her professional life and made the best choice whatever is best for her. Freshly, she was honoured with a National Award. Raha’s mother was surrounded with questions if she would be given a chance again to portray the character of Shanaya from the movie Student of the Year to which she started her acting journey.
Alia Take on Shanaya’s Role
During the HT summit, Alia Bhatt, who portrayed Shanaya in her debut film Student of the Year, was questioned about reprising the character. After a brief pause, she responded, “Actually, never say never. I never limit myself. I really go with my instinct.”
She further adds, “I definitely feel my personality, of course, as anybody’s personality has evolved over the last ten years, so maybe my choice of movies, the way I approach every film, the process has become more structured. But still, I would say I have no structure when it comes to process.”
Alia then mentions that She succumbs herself to the director and have distinguish process for every film.
Recently, on the 11th anniversary of Student of the Year, Alia expressed her joy on Instagram. She posted a picture of a smiley on a frosted window with the caption, “11 years. How time flies.” Her story was accompanied by the ‘Ishq Vala Love’ track from the film.

Student of the Year, helmed by Karan Johar, marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan, alongside seasoned actors like Ram Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Sana Saeed, and Farida Jalal. Released in 2012, the film received both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Recently, Alia appeared in KJo’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, sharing the theatre screen with Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. The film received positive reviews and performed well at the box office. Her upcoming project is Vasan Bala’s Jigra, which she is also co-producing.
