IPL Inauguration Ceremony
The Indian Premier League returns for another season, and like every year, IPL 2024 will begin with a star-studded opening ceremony. The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the inaugural IPL 2024 match on March 22 at the M A Chidambaram International Cricket Stadium in Chennai.
AR Rahman
AR Rahman is known for his music everywhere in India. He is legendary musician. He has experience of singing and composing songs in many languages. Rahman has explored different genres throughout his career. His concerts are very not held often . But this time singer has said yes to perform in the inauguration ceremony of IPL. He will make the night even more melodious with his magnificent performance.
Sonu Nigam
Sonu Nigam another music legend will also be performing in the opening night. He is very soulful singer and has very melodious voice. He is very versatile singer, has sang so many songs across the languages . His performance is very highly anticipated by the fans. Both the singers will add emotional depth in the ceremony.
Akshay and Tiger will also perform
Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff will also perform in the inauguration ceremony. Two of the biggest action stars of our country will add much needed glamour quotient in the ceremony. Both the actors are very agile and fit and will showcase some high quality action moves . They will bring very vibrant energy in the ceremony. Fans are very excited to see both of them performing in the mega event.
IPL shared the news on social media
The official account of IPL on X announces the line-up for the opening ceremony, tweeting, “The stage is set, the lights are bright, and the stars are ready to shine at the TATA IPL 2024 opening ceremony! Get ready for an unforgettable fusion of cricket and entertainment ft. a stellar lineup! 22nd March, 6:30 pm onwards.”
They also shared posters announcing that Akshay, Tiger, Rahman and Sonu will perform at the event. The first match will see Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. Last year’s opening ceremony had seen Rashmika Mandanna, Tamannaah Bhatia and singer Arijit Singh perform at the event. A video of Rashmika dancing to Jimikki Ponnu in her green room had also gone viral back then.
AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam will perform patriotic songs
A source confirmed that Rahman and Sonu will perform to patriotic numbers, apart from Bollywood songs. Giving perspective on how long the opening ceremony will be, they said, “The duration of the entire show, including Akshay and Tiger’s performance, will be about 30 minutes. Sonu and Rahman will also present some Bollywood hits together,” adding, “Besides the musical act, there will also be a never-before-seen AR (Augmented Reality) technology display that’s also a highlight of the opening ceremony.”
Upcoming projects
Akshay and Tiger are currently working together on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F and Ronit Bose Roy. Co-written by Aditya Basu, the film will release on April 10. Rahman has composed music for Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life, Amar Singh Chamkila, Maidaan which are yet to be released and has been roped in for Ram Charan’s next film with Janhvi Kapoor.
