6th September 2023,Mumbai: Celebrating Success and Beginnings
Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel is currently relishing the sweet taste of triumph as the patriotic action film surges past the remarkable milestone of Rs 500 crores at the Indian box office. Ameesha Patel, who had one of the most remarkable debuts in the industry with “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,” has had an eventful journey in Bollywood, marked by a mix of highs and lows.
The Rollercoaster Journey
While Ameesha Patel had her share of ups and downs in the film industry post her debut, her co-star in “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,” Hrithik Roshan, faced a particularly challenging phase with a string of box office disappointments. This was despite the fact that he collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Yash Raj Films (in “Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon”), Subhash Ghai (in “Yaadein”), and more. However, none of these projects seemed to strike the right chord with the audience.
The Star Quality and Talent
Hrithik Roshan had proven himself as a star and a gifted actor right from his very first movie. His charisma and talent were undeniable, yet the box office results told a different story. This paradox baffled not only the actors themselves but also their industry peers and fans alike.
Ameesha Patel’s Revelation
Recently, Ameesha Patel made a revealing statement during an appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s show. She disclosed that during their challenging phase, she and Hrithik Roshan used to engage in extensive discussions, trying to decipher what really clicked with the audience. She candidly expressed her confusion, saying, “And I think, we used to always talk about it like do you even understand the dynamics? On one Friday, Hrithik Roshan becomes the most powerful man after the PM in this country, and the next Friday, people are not accepting his films. What kind of world is this?” Ameesha Patel further revealed that Hrithik Roshan was deeply upset after being labeled as a one-film wonder.
A Strong Bond with the Roshans
Ameesha Patel also spoke about her strong bond with the Roshan family, particularly Rakesh Roshan. She mentioned that when she learned that Rakesh Roshan was planning “Koi Mil Gaya” for Hrithik Roshan, she felt a sense of assurance. She believed the film would be a resounding success, and indeed, “Koi Mil Gaya” turned out to be a massive hit, even spawning a sequel.
A Timeless Stardom
Reflecting on the recent successes of movies like “Pathaan” and “Gadar 2,” Ameesha Patel highlighted a vital point – age should never be a determinant when it comes to stardom. She emphasized that whenever actors take a slightly longer break, whether for personal or professional reasons, and then return to the big screen, it is often dubbed as a “comeback.”
Playing a New Role
In “Gadar 2,” Ameesha Patel has taken on the role of Sakina, now portraying a mother to a grown-up Jeetay, played by Utkarsh Sharma. This marks a significant shift in her career, showcasing her versatility as an actress and her ability to adapt to diverse roles.
Ameesha Patel’s journey in Bollywood has been a rollercoaster ride, filled with highs and lows. Her candid revelations about the challenges she and Hrithik Roshan faced, as well as her enduring bond with the Roshan family, shed light on the complex dynamics of the film industry. Ameesha Patel’s recent successes in “Gadar 2” and other projects underscore the enduring power of talent and the unpredictability of stardom in the world of Indian cinema.
