22th April 2023, Mumbai: On Friday morning, Twitter removed the verified check marks of several Bollywood actors as a part of their launch of the subscription service, Twitter Blue. Amitabh Bachchan was among the affected stars who expressed dissatisfaction about losing his blue check mark on the social media platform. He revealed that he had even subscribed to the Twitter Blue service, but his account remained unverified. However, later on Friday night, the situation changed, and Amitabh expressed his gratitude on the platform for his verified check mark being restored.
Amitabh Bachchan expressed his gratitude in Hindi, addressing Elon Musk with “Hey brother Musk!” He thanked him for restoring “Neel Kamal ✔️” in front of his name and asked if Musk would like to listen to a song, as he felt like singing. Bachchan then sang, “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Musk Musk.”
On Friday morning, when Amitabh Bachchan noticed that the blue verification tick was no longer present on his Twitter account, he made a request for it to be restored. He mentioned that he had already paid for the service and thus expected to have the verification tick reinstated.
Amitabh Bachchan expressed in his tweet, “Hello Twitter, can you hear me? I have also given a money, so please reinstate the blue lotus symbol, which will help people identify us. I am humbly folding my hands and asking, should I now bow down to you?
The verified badge on Twitter holds great significance, particularly for accounts associated with individuals who are widely recognized, prominent, or influential, including celebrities, public figures, and corporate entities.
