25th September 2023, Mumbai: Amy Jackson has responded to negative comments and trolling she received for her recent Instagram post in which she showcased her transformation for a role. The actress was compared to Cillian Murphy, known for his role in “Peaky Blinders,” and many people commented on her appearance.

In her response, Amy Jackson expressed her disappointment at the insensitive comments and said, “I’m an actor and I take my job very seriously. For the last month, I’ve been filming a new project in the UK. So, for the character I am playing, I had to slim down and fully commit myself to the role. The online outcry from the (mainly male) Indian demographic is quite sad. I have worked with male co-stars who had to drastically change their look for a film, and they were highly praised for it. The moment a woman does it through unusual hair and makeup that doesn’t conform to their idealism of beauty, they think they have the right to troll you.”

Amy Jackson also addressed the comparisons to Cillian Murphy, stating that she is “over the moon” that so many people think she resembles the “Peaky Blinders” star. She even humorously mentioned that she’s ready to prepare her Birmingham accent for a comeback. Last week, Amy Jackson had shared pictures from an outing with her boyfriend, Ed Westwick, and many commented on her striking resemblance to Cillian Murphy’s character, Thomas Shelby, from “Peaky Blinders.”
