19th May 2023, Mumbai: Fast X is off to a respectable start in India. Although the opening is the largest in terms of net revenue, the number of tickets sold is fewer than in the franchise’s most recent flicks.

With opening-day receipts in the double digits, Fast X, starring Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Jason Statham, John Cena, and many others, had a respectable day at the box office. The movie’s first day gross of between Rs 12.5 and 13.5 crores made it the biggest franchise opening in India, even though Furious 7’s opening day gross was higher. Considering that the franchise has reached the end of its useful life, these numbers are fairly respectable.

Because Thursday was the release day, everything moved more slowly. The weekend already appears more promising, and if everything goes as planned, the four-day total might reach almost Rs 60 crores on Friday.

In just 4 days, Fast X will become the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of the year in India.

Fast X had solid advance reservations and delivered performance that was in line with expectations. It is believed that the movie would do well after the long weekend despite the mixed reviews because the content is in line with what fans have come to expect from the franchise.

Even though it is still early, Fast X is estimated to make at least Rs 100 crore nett in India. The movie is making excellent money from its dubbed versions, which shows that its audience is far larger than the metro areas where films are typically chosen to be watched in English. Fast X will surpass films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and John Wick 4, all of which have gathered or will have amassed slightly more than Rs 50 crores throughout their entire runs, to become the highest grossing Hollywood movie of the year thus far in just four days.

In India, Fast X appears to have sold just over 6 lakh tickets on opening day.

Fast X appears to have sold about 6.25 lakh tickets on the first day, compared to 6.75 lakh for Fast And Furious 6, 11 lakh for Furious 7, 13 lakh for The Fate Of The Furious (including premieres), and 7.25 lakh for Hobbs And Shaw, in terms of audience attendance. The footfalls of F9 are unaccounted for because it had a broken release and came out late in the nation. Fast X’s global opening weekend is expected to earn over $200 million, which isn’t great for a franchise like Fast And Furious but still rather respectable.
