When someone tells me, ‘Sharmana hai’ (you’ve got to blush), I ask them, ‘Ye kya hota hai’ (what’s that). When they appear I say, ‘Achha, aankh neechi karni hai’ (Okay, I got to lower my eyes). I’ve done it (emoting lust) to the finest of my ability, but at that point I need to depend on other individuals — sambhal lena alter mein, close-up le lo (lookout of this within the altar, take a close-up instead).”

Drawing inspiration from a meet with Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, Kajol talked about how the specialised aspects of filming intimate scenes can some of the time overshadow the intended feelings. Desire is, I feel, one of the most personal things. Everyone’s thoughts of desire and how they react to it is totally diverse. It’s a subjective feeling, more than objective.
