27th August 2023, Mumbai: The resounding success of “Oh My God 2” (OMG 2) at the box office continues to captivate audiences as it crosses the remarkable ₹130 crore milestone in India after just 16 days in theaters. The film’s growth trajectory remains impressive, with an upward surge in its domestic box office collection on its third Saturday, amassing more than ₹3 crore. Released on August 10, “OMG 2” is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2012 hit “OMG – Oh My God,” starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in leading roles.

Early estimates reported suggest that “OMG 2” earned a commendable ₹3.25 crore nett in India across all languages on its recent Saturday theatrical run. This marked a significant leap from the approximately ₹1.7 crore earned on its preceding Friday. Notably, the film secured an impressive overall Hindi occupancy of 43.97 percent on Saturday. With a cumulative collection of approximately ₹131.37 crore after just 16 days in theaters, “OMG 2” solidifies its status as a box office sensation. The film’s journey began with a noteworthy opening of ₹10.26 crore, followed by an impressive ₹85.05 crore nett collection in all languages during its first week. A standout performance was recorded on day 5, with the film raking in a substantial ₹17.1 crore.

Directed by Amit Rai and jointly produced by Viacom 18 Studios, Wakaoo Films, and Cape Of Good Films, “OMG 2” has propelled Akshay Kumar to yet another triumphant cinematic endeavor. The film’s success story has translated into real-world recognition, with Akshay Kumar recently arriving in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, to commence shooting for his upcoming project. The actor’s arrival via helicopter was met with enthusiastic fans, and though the title of his next film “Sky Force” has circulated, an official announcement is still pending.
