Akshay Kumar takes on the role of a ‘messenger of Shiva,’ extending a helping hand to Pankaj Tripathi’s Kanti Sharan Mudgal, who embarks on a relentless quest to secure his son’s right to education.

The trailer opens with Lord Shiva summoning his faithful Nandi to dispatch a messenger to aid Kanti, whose son faces expulsion from school over a controversial incident. As Kanti becomes both the accuser and the defendant in a court case, Yami Gautam, portraying a tenacious lawyer, locks horns with him in the courtroom. Guided by the divine messenger, Kanti endeavors to follow the righteous path. Directed by Amit Rai, “OMG 2” braces itself for a grand Bollywood showdown, pitted against Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated action extravaganza, “Gadar 2.” The film has been under scrutiny ever since its posters and teaser were unveiled, with reports suggesting that its religious theme led to careful consideration by the censor board.

A sequel to the successful Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar-starrer “OMG: Oh My God,” the new film sees Akshay reprising his divine role, but this time as Lord Krishna. Originally scheduled to launch on Wednesday, the trailer’s release was delayed as a mark of respect for the late art director Nitin Desai, who passed away on that day. Akshay Kumar announced the postponement on social media, paying homage to the stalwart production designer.

The filmmakers, determined to preserve the essence of the movie, chose to accept an ‘A’ (Adults only) rating instead, making it Akshay Kumar’s second film to receive such a classification. Subsequent to the rating decision, the makers made the requested modifications, striving to meet the board’s guidelines. In a recent development, a new directive from the CFBC has emerged, prohibiting actors from portraying Gods onscreen after Akshay Kumar’s portrayal in “OMG 2.” This guideline necessitates filmmakers to refrain from showcasing human beings as divine entities. Despite these hurdles, “OMG 2,” starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and others, is set to hit theaters on August 11th, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience.
