The Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, has garnered attention for its impressive collection, amassing nearly ₹60 crore in its opening week.

The film’s success story began with a promising start on Friday and has maintained its momentum throughout the weekdays. On Raksha Bandhan, the film witnessed a noteworthy surge in collections, raking in approximately ₹7.75 crore, according to early estimates reports. As of now, the film’s total collection stands at ₹59.75 crore after just six days in theaters.

From its opening day, where it earned ₹10.7 crore, “Dream Girl 2” showcased a remarkable growth trajectory. The film collected ₹16 crore on its first Sunday, displaying its appeal to audiences. Although there was a slight dip in collections on Monday with ₹5.42 crore, the film managed to regain momentum on Wednesday with earnings of ₹7.75 crore. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, “Dream Girl 2” serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit film. In the film, Ayushmann Khurrana takes on the role of Pooja, who dresses up as a woman for financial gains.
Competition from Jawan & Gadar 2
Reflecting on the film’s success amid the concurrent releases of “Jawan” and “Gadar 2,” Ayushmann expressed his satisfaction with the timing of the release. He highlighted the current trend of mid-budget and small-budget films achieving success, showcasing that impactful storytelling is capable of capturing audiences’ attention regardless of budget.

He emphasized the significance of a compelling story and noted that actors are often drawn to challenging roles.
