27th June 2023, Mumbai: In their 2018 horror-comedy Stree, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor reunite to continue the story of urban legend Nale Ba. When the Amar Kaushik-directed movie debuted in 2018, it gave viewers chills and made them chuckle. With the release of Stree 2, the leading duo will now provide the general public with more entertainment. Rajkummar Rao treated his followers to a special surprise on Monday, June 27. The actor shared a photo of himself and his Stree co-star Shraddha Kapoor on Instagram to reveal that Stree 2 filming had begun.
“Kya hoga jab phir se milenge Stree aur Purush?”Rajkummar Rao captioned the image, “(What will happen when Stree and Purush reunite?)” and included the hashtag #Stree 2. The actor was seen posing in the selfie with Shraddha Kapoor on his side. Rajkummar Rao was wearing a black shirt, had his finger over his lips, and had a silly grin on his face.
Shraddha Kapoor, dressed in a pink bandhani dupatta, looked lovely. She posed with a finger on her cheek and flashed a cute smile for the camera. The actress wore very little makeup, including a black bindi and a small amount of nude lipgloss.
It goes without saying that the image quickly caught the attention of movie fans, who responded to it in the comments. “OMG!! The deadly duo is back,” wrote an enthusiastic user. Another person changed one of Stree’s well-known quotes by adding, “Oh Stree, jaldi aana (Stree, please come early).” Third fan: “Release date batao, Vicky plijjj (Reveal the release date, please Vicky)”
Stree 2 will be released in 2019. The team made this announcement at the Jio Studios’ Infinite Together event on April 12 in front of the full cast and certain members of the staff. Stree 2, according to sources, is slated to hit theatres on August 31, 2024 , six years after the most successful horror franchise’s debut.
Besides Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee will once again reprise their roles in Stree 2, helmed by Amar Kaushik.
