7th July 2023, Mumbai: Sara Ali Khan is enjoying Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’s success. This was her first theatrical release following the pandemic, following the release of three films on OTT. In the international market, the movie brought in more than Rs 85 crores. It has been in theatres for more than five weeks, which is amazing for a post-pandemic film. The oldest child of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh is Sara Ali Khan. We questioned the actress about her biggest domestic critic. The actress claims that her parents are often pleased with her work. “They are a good mirror, she assures them. I’m often told to pay attention to my audience. What they will say will ultimately matter. They have children. They always will be biased, they only love and support my work.”

The topic around nepotism has clearly gotten much more attention in the last two years. Every star child that enters the industry gets ridiculed from the very beginning. Sara Ali Khan has experienced worse. Most people think she’s always been upfront about her privilege. She is viewed favourably by more people than not. She says, “I just wanted to thank you. I am highly conscious of my origins. But regardless of where you begin, you must run this journey with sincerity and utmost determination. The only requirement is that you work honestly.”

With Sarzameen, her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan will make his acting debut. Kajol plays the lead role in the movie. The movie’s director is Kayoze Irani. Sara Ali Khan advised her younger sibling to “just be honest and do your work” when we asked her for advice. Don’t be someone else because there are already others. Is it common for the two of them to discuss their jobs over dinner considering they both come from acting families and live with their mother Amrita Singh?

“It is exactly as usual,” adds Sara Ali Khan. “We try not to talk about films and work too much. Yes, since we all enjoy what we do, themes come up frequently.”
