5 July 2023, Mumbai: In a surprising announcement last month, popular actor and social media personality Kusha Kapila revealed that she had split from her husband, Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, after six years of marriage. The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and among her loyal fan base. However, Kusha recently returned to Instagram, sharing her first post since the divorce announcement, and it featured none other than her close friend, actor Deepika Padukone.
Kusha took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to express her gratitude to her supporters. She wrote, “Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I read everything, every single word. Just, thank you, thank you, and a big thank you.” Prior to this, she had hinted at a highly anticipated collaboration, referring to it as her “dream collab” video.
In the video, Kusha collaborated with Deepika Padukone, with whom she shares a strong bond. The hilarious Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani-inspired video showcased their chemistry as best friends. Deepika defended their relationship as Kusha accused her of betraying her and forming new friendships. The video also revealed Kusha’s obsession with the memes Deepika shared with her during late-night conversations. Additionally, the duo promoted products from Deepika’s skincare brand, 82°E, seamlessly blending humour and marketing.
Fans and celebrities alike flooded the comments section with enthusiastic responses. One comment exclaimed, “Omg (oh my God)! Epic.” Stand-up comedian Sumukhi Suresh expressed surprise at the newfound friendship between Kusha and Deepika, playfully writing, “I am sorry? Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, her former husband, also came to her defence, denouncing the attacks on her character as “shameful.”
