19th October 2023, Mumbai: Taylor Swift has introduced two new interpretations of her popular chart-topping track ‘Cruel Summer’ for her dedicated fanbase.

On Wednesday night, the 33-year-old singer took to Instagram to announce this exciting development, sharing a snapshot of herself performing the song during her Eras Tour.

In her Instagram post, the Grammy award winner expressed her gratitude to fans for their incredible support of ‘Cruel Summer,’ a track from her 2019 album Lover. The song made history by holding the No. 1 spot on Billboard for a record-breaking eight weeks as of October 7th.

In her Instagram update, the recipient of multiple Grammy Awards shared…“What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇.”

“One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported ‘Cruel Summer’ SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by @lpgiobbi 😜 Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!”

The freshly released renditions of ‘Cruel Summer’ are now accessible for streaming and downloading. These versions precede the much-anticipated release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), her fourth re-recorded album, set to launch on October 27. Taylor Swift also unveiled five extra songs for the album, presenting them as a reward to fans who successfully solved a word puzzle on Google.

Google shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter), revealing the four song titles that fans unlocked. These titles are…’Is It Over Now?’ ‘Now That We Don’t Talk,’ ‘Say Don’t Go’ and ‘Suburban Legends.”

The video stated, “Oh look, you did it. You unlocked the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Vault and now I am so excited to share the new vault tracks with you,”

“Can’t wait for you to hear them,” it added.

Swift marked the debut of her Eras Tour concert film recently, attending the premiere to celebrate its release. Directed by documentary filmmaker Sam Wrench, the film achieved remarkable success at the box office.
