On Sunday, January 28, Bigg Boss 17 concluded its voyage and declared Munawar Faruqui the winner of the season. Along with taking home the much-coveted trophy, Munawar also bagged Rs 50 lakhs in prize money. The results showed that Abhishek Kumar was the first runner-up and Mannara Chopra was the second runner-up. In the last live polling, Munawar reportedly received almost 75% of the vote, while Abhishek received 25%. The win of Munawar Faruqui has elicited a range of responses from viewers. Different opinions were stirred up on social media by the announcement. While many internet users congratulated Munawar on his victory, a sizable portion of them voiced their dissatisfaction over what they saw as an “unfair decision.” Some claimed Abhishek was deserving of the title.

Beyond the competitors, Bigg Boss fans and online commentators attacked Colours channel and the show’s producers for what they perceived to be unfairness and favouritism once more. A lot of people expressed their displeasure, calling the season the least busy and pointing to a dearth of assignments and disputes.

Munawar reacts to being called “Fixed Winner’

Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has responded to claims that this season’s winner was ‘fixed’. The stand-up comedian was asked how he felt about people labelling him a “fixed winner” during an interview with ETimes. He stated that those who are accusing him of being the “fixed winner” ought to watch the entire season to learn just how much “scrutiny” he endured. He says, “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner. If I would have been a fixed winner, I would have got everything on a platter. Pura season gawah hai. My answer to people, who are calling me a fixed winner is – ‘Just sit and watch the entire season and you will realise that it wasn’t fixed’.”

“Having said that, people can have that feeling because, when you have a strong fanbase, and you do such reality shows a lot of things are at stake and you lose a few things. To win things, then you give it your best. Mujhe lagta hai ye pyaar hai logon ka, and people who are calling me me fixed winner, I can’t change their opinion. Maybe before going to Bigg Boss, I would have wanted to change perceptions, but now I. feel I can’t change everyone”

Some felt that Abhishek deserved the trophy more

Actor Abhishek Kumar, the first runner-up, has been trending on X (previously known as Twitter) ever since Munawar Faruqui’s Bigg Boss victory. Some Bigg Boss watchers believe Abhishek deserved the trophy more than Munawar did. Reports, however, indicate that Munawar may have won the prize by a significant margin in the vote. On Bigg Boss 17, actors Mannara Chopra and Ankita Lokhande placed third and fourth, respectively. Another YouTuber in the top five was Arun Mahashetty.

Salman Khan is being trolled for not making Abhishek win due to his name

Ever since the Bigg Boss winner was announced many jokes have been circulated over the internet. Munawar was chosen over Abhishek and netizens are relating it to how a guy named “Abhishek can never win a show hosted by Salman Khan” owing to Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwariya Rai being married to “Abhishek Bachchan”.
