15th May 2023, Mumbai: Hacsoo, a popular K-pop star known for her talent in trot singing, tragically passed away today on May 15 at the age of 29. According to reports, she was found deceased in her hotel room, with suggestions indicating that she took her own life.
Kim Soo-hyun, also known by her stage name Haesoo, left behind a suicide note before her untimely passing. Korean media reports indicate that the police, after examining the contents of the letter, have dismissed the possibility of foul play and officially concluded the case as a suicide, affirming that the singer took her own life.
Two days prior to the shocking news, a deceased singer was discovered in a hotel room, but the police had not disclosed the identity of the individual at that time. On May 15, 2023, the public learned about the tragic demise of Haesoo when a South Korean outlet received notifications from event organisers informing them that the singer would not be able to attend the scheduled event due to her passing.
Scheduled to take place on May 20th, Haesoo had been slated to grace the stage at the Gwaniumyeon People’s Day festival in Wanju Gun, Jeollabuk-do.
Haesoo actively engaged with her fans through social media and maintained a vibrant online presence. Her final interaction with her followers occurred on the day prior to her tragic passing.
Having been born in 1993, Haesoo rose to prominence with the release of her album “My Life, Me” and gained recognition through her appearances on various entertainment shows such as “Gayo Stage,” “Hangout With Yoo,” and “The Trot Show.” She was celebrated for her melodious vocals as a trot singer, a genre highly cherished in South Korea. Reports indicate that Haesoo had dedicated time to studying Korean music and had earned a significant degree in the field.
Following the news, admirers swiftly began honouring the departed icon with heartfelt tributes. One fan expressed their condolences by writing, “Rest in peace #HAESOO.” Meanwhile, another individual brought attention to the recent string of deaths within the South Korean entertainment industry and urged for introspection, stating, “The Korean entertainment industry, along with toxic netizens and fans, must urgently reassess their behaviors! This toxic environment is wreaking havoc on numerous lives and tragically leading to untimely demises.
