7th September 2023, Mumbai: The box office journey of Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha’s film ‘Kushi’ has been a rollercoaster ride. Initially, it soared to great heights but has now faced a decline within just a week of its theatrical release. Despite the setbacks, the film is inching closer to the coveted Rs 100 crore mark worldwide.

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, ‘Kushi’ was highly anticipated and marked the first collaboration between Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda. It hit theaters with much fanfare on September 1 but has experienced a dip in its collection, particularly starting from September 4.
Jawan to stand as Tough Competition
On its sixth day, which fell on September 6, ‘Kushi’ recorded its lowest collection yet, estimated at around Rs 1.50 crore net in India. This brings the film’s total domestic box office collection over the course of six days to Rs 40.65 crore. On September 6, the film reportedly had an occupancy rate of 17.25 percent in India. With the wide release of ‘Jawan’ in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, the fate of ‘Kushi’ at the box office remains uncertain.
‘Kushi,’ a romantic comedy written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, showcases the chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The movie also features talented actors such as Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Ponvannan, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, and Rahul Ramakrishna in supporting roles. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Hesham Abdul Wahab as the composer, Murali G as the cinematographer, and Prawin Pudi as the editor.
Kushi Dreams of 100 Crore Milestone
Despite the recent challenges at the box office, ‘Kushi’ initially enjoyed a phenomenal opening and brought together two beloved actors in the industry. Whether it can regain its momentum during the weekend remains to be seen, as the film continues its journey toward the impressive Rs 100 crore milestone worldwide.
