Zeenat Aman Reflects on Beauty, Intelligence, and Defying Conventions

25th June 2023,Mumbai: Zeenat Aman, a seasoned actor, reminisced about those who were “far more interested” in her appearance than her intelligence. In a recent interview, Zeenat claimed that while using her attractiveness as leverage, she “chose roles that pushed the envelope.” According to the actor, some events in her life are something that individuals hold onto. She also said that she is not defined by a few horrible days from decades ago.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), the song that made Zeenat famous. She has since appeared in a number of films, including Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974), Chori Mera Kaam (1975), Dharam Veer (1977), Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Don (1978), The Great Gambler (1979), Alibaba Aur 40 Chor (1980), Qurbani, Dostana (1980), and Laawaris (1981), Mahaan (1983), Pukar (1983), Jagir (1984), and Teesri Aankh (1982) among many others.

In an interview, Zeenat stated, “I quickly discovered that the world looked to women in the film industry for their youth and beauty. I took advantage of my good looks while also choosing parts that were unconventional. Nevertheless, my appearance and physique attracted far more attention than my intelligence ever did. I have enjoyed becoming older since it has balanced the balances, in part.”

“I have lived a life of breathtaking highs and profound lows,” she continued. “I have nothing to regret and owe no one. Any guilt or anxiety that I had in the past has long since vanished. There are some events in my life that the media clings to and keeps bringing up. I am conscious of them and am overcoming them more and more. I don’t need pity or defence since my life isn’t defined by a few unfortunate events that happened decades ago. I am satisfied with who I am.”

The performer Is renowned for taking on unusual parts and challenging preconceptions through her outspoken character. Zeenat debuted on Instagram in February of this year. She continues to provide introspective comments on a variety of subjects, including parenting, celebrities’ privacy, hair colouring, and many other things.
