Centre's Bold Move: Government Mandates PNG Switch in Pipeline Areas
The Ministry's initiative of expanding piped natural gas (PNG) is aimed at alleviating the stress on liquified petroleum gas (LPG) which is facing supply issues due to tensions in West Asia.
New Delhi (India) March 25:The Centre has intensified its efforts to extend the gas distribution networks in the country and reduce the reliance on a single fuel source by introducing a new policy according to which they will stop supplying LPG to those households that fail to switch over to piped natural gas (PNG) in areas where such facilities are available. It is worth noting that the move comes at a moment when the global oil supply has been severely disrupted due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
