24th September 2023, Mumbai: In his address during the 105th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, which was proposed during the G20 Summit. He emphasized that this corridor would play a pivotal role in shaping global trade in the future.

India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor at the G20 Summit

PM Modi drew parallels between ancient and modern times, stating that in the past, during India’s prosperous era, discussions about the Silk Routes were widespread both within the country and around the world. Now, in contemporary times, India has taken the initiative to propose the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor at the G20 Summit. He expressed confidence that history would remember India’s role in launching this corridor, which is expected to become a cornerstone of global trade. During the same address, the Prime Minister mentioned that he had received an abundance of letters expressing joy and pride in the success of Chandrayaan 3 and the G20 summit. He noted that the achievements of these events had doubled the happiness of every Indian.

Prime Minister acknowledged the upcoming World Tourism Day

PM Modi also discussed the G20 University Connect program, which will be held in Delhi in the aftermath of the summit. This program will involve students from the country’s top colleges and is aimed at fostering academic and cultural exchanges. Furthermore, the Prime Minister acknowledged the upcoming World Tourism Day, scheduled for September 27, and highlighted how the G20 summit had enhanced India’s global appeal as a tourist destination. He mentioned that more than one lakh delegates from around the world attended the G20 summit in India and gained a deep appreciation for the country’s diversity. This, in turn, is expected to boost tourism in India.

PM Modi’s Takes On Gandhi Jayanti

PM Modi also reminisced about the world leaders who paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by visiting the Gandhi memorial during the G20 summit. He urged all Indians to participate in a cleanliness drive on October 1, leading up to Gandhi Jayanti, as a fitting tribute to the father of the nation. Additionally, he encouraged people to purchase Khadi products on October 2. Prime Minister’s address touched upon various topics, from the significance of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor to the positive impact of the G20 summit on tourism in India and the upcoming observance of World Tourism Day. He also stressed the importance of cleanliness and paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals as India continues its journey toward progress and development.
