16th May 2023, Mumbai: In order to prove to be a successful effort at the Indian box office, Fast X will seek to hit the half century in the opening weekend and hope to score a century in the long run. Complete report.

With their return, Jason Statham and Vin Diesel star in the upcoming Fast & Furious movie, Fast X. Jason Momoa joins the duo in the role of the antagonist, and the movie is receiving positive reviews in India. The central board of film certification has rated the movie U/A, with a 2 hours, 21 minute (141 minute) authorised runtime.

Fast X will open in 2200 theatres.

Fast X is preparing for a wide release across the country in around 2200 theatres; essentially, all the venues that handle the 2K format will show Fast X at their locations. In India, 2,500 screens are anticipated to be used. Fast X started making advances a month ago in India, but the movie didn’t really take off until a weekday. The advance reservations at the national multiplex chains are decent with two days until its release, but they may be better.

For the launch day, Fast X has sold about 38,500 tickets in the three major national chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, as of Tuesday Morning at 10 am. With 19,000 tickets, PVR is in the lead, followed by Inox with 10,200 and Cinepolis with 9,300. Fast X has sold about 1,08,000 tickets for the four-day extended weekend in the three chains, so the advancements are strong during the weekend.

Fast X hopes to have a double-digit debut in India.

When compared to the most recent Hollywood film, Guardian of The Galaxy 3, the three chains’ reservations are up by about 40%.

Fast X will aim for a start between Rs 9.00 to Rs 10.50 crore if the pattern of being 40% higher throughout the opening day continues. The Marvel Superhero movie debuted in India at Rs 7.00 crore. Due to the outrageous action and a universal family sentiment, the actioner has a bigger audience reach in the mass belts and has a better chance of reaching interiors than the Marvel Universe currently does. Fast X might easily push itself towards a Rs 11 crore start if the general public gets on board.

The movie opens on Thursday rather than Friday, so the night shows might not be as robust as they would be for a traditional release. Fast X would have had a better start if it had been released on a Friday because Hollywood pictures frequently outperform in the evening programmes. In order to prove to be a successful effort at the Indian box office, Fast X will seek to hit the half century in the opening weekend and hope to score a century in the long run. Fast & Furious 6’s delayed release during the Covid lockdown was a major factor in India’s dissatisfaction with it.

Because the producers have confirmed that Fast X will be a trilogy conclusion, the next installment is expected to draw the devoted franchise fanbase back to the theatre.
