New Delhi (India) March 10:Abu Dhabi's state oil giant, ADNOC, has temporarily shut down its Ruwais refinery following a fire that erupted after a drone strike at a facility within the complex. This incident marks yet another disruption to energy infrastructure amid the ongoing tensions stemming from the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
On Tuesday, the government media office in Abu Dhabi reported that local authorities responded promptly to the fire caused by the drone strike, reassuring the public that there were no injuries. However, they did not disclose the specific facility affected. 

UAE Air Defences Intercept Iran-Linked Threats

Meanwhile, UAE air defenses indicated that they were actively addressing incoming threats from missiles and drones linked to Iran. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds heard across various parts of the country were due to interception operations.
“UAE air defences are currently responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran. MOD asserts that the sounds heard are the result of the Air Defence Systems intercepting missiles and drones,” UAE Ministry of Defence said.

Qatar Foils Missile Strike

In a related development, Qatar announced on Tuesday that it had successfully intercepted a missile attack aimed at its territory, highlighting the ongoing risks to civilian infrastructure posed by Iran.
Foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari cautioned that Iranian assaults could have far-reaching economic repercussions globally, particularly impacting energy infrastructure in the Middle East.
"The attacks on energy facilities that have happened, also on both sides, are a dangerous precedent... it will cause repercussions throughout the world," the spokesman said.

Bahrain Woman Killed in Iranian Residential Hit

In Bahrain , the situation was dire, with an Iranian attack resulting in the tragic death of a 29-year-old woman and injuries to eight others when a strike hit a residential building in the capital, Manama, according to the Interior Ministry.
“A 29-year-old Bahraini woman died, and eight people were injured as a result of the blatant Iranian aggression against a residential building in Manama,” said the ministry.

Trump Wants Quick End; Iran Says No

On a broader note, US President Donald Trump expressed hope on Monday that the conflict with Iran might soon come to an end, although he did not provide any timeline for when the hostilities might cease. In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards asserted that they would be the ones to determine the conflict's conclusion, rather than the United States.
