Modi's Historic Third Term
Narendra Modi is set to take the oath as Prime Minister for the third time today at 7:15 PM. He becomes the only Indian PM after Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for three consecutive terms.
Congratulations from China
As Modi prepares for his swearing-in ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador congratulated him on his third term. This gesture was acknowledged by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India.
MEA's Response
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to China's message on social media, stating, "Thank you MFA China for congratulating PM Narendra Modi on his election victory. We will continue to pursue efforts towards the normalization of India-China ties based on mutual respect, mutual interest, and mutual sensitivity."
China's Statement
Earlier, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson had also congratulated the BJP and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on their election victory. The spokesperson expressed hope for a healthy and stable China-India relationship.
Swearing-In Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony is set to take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening. Many top leaders and distinguished guests from around the world will attend the ceremony. There will be over 8000 guests present during the oath-taking ceremony of PM Narendra Modi in the presence of India’s president Droupadi Murmu.
