Revelation of Details in the Murder Case
According to reports, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, West Bengal's CID team disclosed details about the murder of Anar. The information revealed that he was smothered with a pillow shortly after entering a flat in New Town, Kolkata, last month. It was reported that following Anar's death, the murderer chopped his body and placed the pieces into plastic bags. These bags containing the remains were subsequently dumped in different locations across the New Town area and Bagjola canal before the suspect fled to various hideouts. Mohammad Siyam Hussain, an arrested suspect, provided this information to the police. He was arrested in Nepal. Hussain told the police that a woman, alleged to be the girlfriend of Akhtaruzzaman, a US national and the prime accused in the case, along with one other accomplice, were involved.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations uncovered that Akhtaruzzaman, a close friend of the MP, purportedly provided approximately ₹5 crore to those implicated in the crime. It is noteworthy that Akhtaruzzaman possesses a residence in Kolkata, although he is reportedly residing in the US at present.
The arrested individual also informed the police that some parts of Anar’s body were placed into a suitcase and dumped near the Bangaon border with Bangladesh.
