The recent tragic incident in Maharashtra’s Mumbai has shaken the political landscape as Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasahesb Thackeray) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot dead during a Facebook live session. This event has raised concerns about the state’s law and order situation.

Details of the Incident

Ghosalkar was attacked in the Dahisar area of Mumbai and was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The assailant, identified as Mauris Noronha, also died by suicide after shooting Ghosalkar.

Police Investigation

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has initiated an investigation into the incident. According to DCP Raj Tilak Roushan, there seems to be a rivalry between the victim and the assailant, suggesting a possible motive for the crime.

Pattern of Violence

This tragic event follows another violent incident earlier in January, where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly shot at Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) faction leader Mahesh Gaikwad. These incidents indicate a concerning pattern of violence within the political sphere of Maharashtra.

Allegations of Law Enforcement Failure

The opposition parties have been quick to criticize the state government, alleging a failure of law and order. Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole has expressed concerns about the emergence of what he calls ‘Jungle Raj’ in the state.

Criticism from Sena-UBT Leadership

Aaditya Thackeray, a prominent leader within the Shiv Sena-UBT alliance, has strongly criticized the current administration, particularly led by Eknath Shinde. Thackeray highlights a perceived deterioration in law and order, contrasting it with previous regimes. His remarks underscore a growing discontent within the ruling coalition regarding the state’s security situation.

The assassination of Abhishek Ghosalkar during a Facebook live session has sent shockwaves throughout Maharashtra’s political circles. With tensions escalating and criticisms mounting, there is a pressing need for thorough investigations and measures to address the underlying issues of violence and law enforcement within the state.
