Cabinet Approves Key Expansion

The Delhi Cabinet meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had reached a consensus that around 3.97 lakh widows and 1.31 lakh Divyang persons belong to the ambit of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
Their families will also qualify to take advantage of benefits under the scheme. Gupta said, about 5.5 lakh families in Delhi benefit from the 'Ayushman Bharat' scheme. 

Health and Medical Aid for Every Needy

These families will also participate along with the families that were covered under categories Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) or Priority Household (PRS), senior citizens aged over 70, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers.
The government is also firmly committed to making sure that no poor, vulnerable or needy citizen of Delhi is denied medical care due to a lack of finances, she said.

The Prime Minister has ensured health security for crores of poor families across the country via Ayushman Bharat, and the Delhi Government is still committed to getting every eligible person in the capital the benefits of the scheme. 

Hospital Network Grows

Chief Minister Gupta said 7,23,707 Ayushman cards have been issued in Delhi so far, including 2,74,620 cards to senior citizens. The hospital network has been expanded to include 208 hospitals, including 156 private hospitals and 53 government hospitals, for the effective rollout of the scheme within the capital. 

Gupta pointed out that this is more than an administrative decision, it's a commitment tied to the health and dignity of every unfortunate family living in Delhi. This has been an integral part of the healthcare scheme and will increase healthcare services even more until the time when those in greater need of assistance access timely care without breaking their backs.
