 Kanker district of Chhattisgarh witnessed a series of violent clashes between security forces and Maoists.


 It highlighted the ongoing conflict in the region.

 These battles resulted in casualties on both sides, reflecting the continuing challenges  in combating the Naxal insurgency.

 Recent Incidents: March 3, 2024 On March 3, a policeman was killed in an encounter between a policeman and a Naxalite in a forest near Hidur village under the jurisdiction of Chotebetiya police station.

 The operation was launched  on the basis of specific information regarding the presence of Naxalites in  Hidur forest.Constable Ramesh Qureshi, a member of Buster Fighters, a squad of the state police, was killed in the gunfight.

 Bodies of  Naxalite and  AK-47 rifle were recovered from the spot. March 19, 2024 Two Naxalites  killed in clashes with security forces. In this operation,  police succeeded in seizing two weapons and large quantities of ammunition from the Naxalites.
