11 August 2023, Mumbai: In a concerning incident, twenty-four students from a municipal school located in Delhi’s Naraina area fell ill on Friday, believed to be a result of a nearby gas leak. Authorities reported that the incident led to the hospitalization of nineteen students at RML Hospital, while the remaining nine were taken to Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, a prominent medical facility under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

A senior official from the hospital shared, “The students displayed signs of illness, presumably due to a gas leak incident in close proximity to the school. Fortunately, all students are stable and are receiving medical care from doctors at the respective hospitals.”

Swift action was taken by the civic health department, dispatching officials to both hospitals and the school premises. Additionally, the education department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been actively involved in addressing the situation and ensuring the well-being of the students.

The official emphasized, “Our department is committed to investigating the root cause of this incident. We aim to uncover the factors that led to the unfortunate situation.”
