Mira Road experiences heavy tension amidst the Ram Temple celebration in the city: Five arrested

Moments before the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, a fight broke out in Maharashtra between two communities in the Naya Nagar neighbourhood of Mira Road, Mumbai. Five persons were arrested by the police as soon as they intervened after the argument. According to DCP, an inquiry has been started in this respect.

A group of 10 to 12 people carrying out a rally from Naya Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Mira Bhayandar police, chanted slogans in praise of Lord Ram ahead of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya at around 10.30 p.m. on Sunday, according to a report in the news agency PTI.

According to the information received by the police officials, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday. According to the DCP, the situation has been stabilised, and a flag march has taken place nearby. “Naya Nagar Police has registered a case against 5 people, arrested them and has started investigating the matter,” stated the officer.

They allegedly detonated firecrackers and screamed slogans, which prompted some villagers to emerge brandishing wooden sticks. The report claimed that after this, there was an altercation between the participants and that they attacked their cars. But the police moved quickly to break up the gathering and ensured that there was a significant police presence to prevent things from getting worse.

Videos from the event became widely popular on social media site X. Additionally, the police have urged the people living on Mira Road to disregard speculations. There is currently an ongoing investigation into the matter.

DCP Jayant Bajbale told ANI, “At around 11 pm yesterday, some people of the Hindu community were raising slogans in 3-4 vehicles in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road adjacent to Mumbai. After this, an argument started with some people belonging to the Muslim community. Seeing the deteriorating situation, the police vehicle immediately reached the spot and took some people into custody. The situation has been brought under control and a flag march was conducted in the area. Naya Nagar Police has registered a case against 5 people, arrested them and has started investigating the matter”

Meanwhile, Ayodhya is experiencing a holy frenzy as the beautiful temple prepares for the long-awaited Pran Pratishtha ritual of Ram Lalla today.

A few days have passed since the 51-inch statue of Ram Lalla was positioned at the Ram Mandir’s “garbha griha” on January 18. Nripendra Mishra, the chairman of the Ayodhya Ram Temple Construction Committee, gave information about the temple’s future construction plans following today’s Pran Pratishtha event.

“Today is the day before Pran Pratistha and is very important for all of us. All the arrangements have to be seen…it has to be ensured in such a way that all the assurances given to the nation may be fulfilled. We will start our work from 23rd January with new enthusiasm and a new commitment so that the entire temple can be built in 2024.” said ANI Mishra.
