Mr. Pichai is in New Delhi in pursuit of the momentum surrounding the India AI Impact Summit that is scheduled to unfold over Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with an expo.
Pichai is a strong indicator that investor confidence is still high and that companies are still involved in co-creating AI capacity: in research, skilling and product development. For Google and other global corporations, the summit is an opportunity to help align its products, research and talent development to India’s tech ecosystem. 

Summit's Strategic Importance

The India AI Impact Summit is described as one of the biggest AI-specific initiatives to be held in the Global South; it unites policy and technology leaders in order to deliberate around AI security, governance and AI innovation.
The AI Summit is being held at Bharat Mandapam, on February 16-20, which has seen participation from governments, tech companies and international organisations from various technocratic, social, trade and business interests in the fields of artificial intelligence. 

Event Details and Participation

In New Delhi, more than 20 heads of state, 60 ministers and as many as 500 global AI leaders, from tech leaders to policymakers, have assembled to chart a common vision for inclusive and ethical AI use. From the outset of previous worlds AI forums which mostly focused on safety and risk mitigation, this summit places great significance into AI for development.
