Although Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been demanding it since the beginning, the NIA went on the raid without informing the local police station.

In the incident, the complaining NIA officer and the injured NIA officer were summoned by the district police on Tuesday. A notice has been sent to record the assault incident. The injured officer has been asked to bring the medical report. Even the vandalized vehicle has been mentioned in the notice to be taken to Bhupatinagar police station.

NIA faced protests

Complaint Filed

On the other hand, Tapan Burman was investigating the sexual harassment case against the NIA. However, amid controversy, the investigating officers in Bhupatinagar were changed on Monday. The two who were investigating are of the rank of sub-inspectors. At present, the duty has been given to Inspector Shyamal Chakraborty. He is the one who summoned the NIA officials for the recording of their statements.

NIA moves to the High Court

The NIA is approaching the Calcutta High Court in connection with the attack on officials in Bhupatinagar. Justice Joy Sengupta has allowed the case to be filed. Hearing at 2:30 p.m. A report has already been submitted to the Election Commission by the East Medinipur District Police. The report mentioned that the NIA was attacked in Bhupatinagar. The matter has also been mentioned in the report of the Sub-Divisional Ruler. Even the report mentions that the NIA officials went on the raid that day after informing the police.

Investigation Started

Inspector Shyamal Chakraborty has already started investigating the incident of the attack on the NIA. He took over the investigation on Monday. First, OC Gopal Pathak of Bhupatinagar police station was investigating the attack on the NIA. The investigating officer sent notices to the complainant NIA officer and the injured NIA officer. The police want to record their statements. In this case, it has been asked to bring the medical report of the injured NIA officer.
