Ratan Tata is India’s most followed industrialist. He has been awarded two highest civilian awards- Padma Vibhushan (2008) and Padma Bhushan (2000) for his contributions towards nation-building. He is an inspiration to many and has contributed to the economy immensely. He was born on December 28, 1937 and was brought up by his grandmother Navajbai Tata. He is the son of Naval Tata and Sooni Tata. Ratan Tata took the responsibility of bringing globalization to India and helped the Indian economy achieve great heights. He also contributed to changing the mindsets of India’s top business leaders. He successfully led the Tata Group into International markets. Ratan Tata commences his career at Tata Steel and gained precious experience in diverse organizational roles. Beginning In 2000, Tata went out to acquire 36 companies in just nine years. He is known for his will, determination, and humility. He is a great humanitarian and a top business icon.

He is not only known for his business success but also for his philanthropic activities. In 2018, he dedicated part of Bombay House 2.0 to stray dogs. The kennel was designed to tend to each need of the animal. The building had been a home for stray dogs for many years and now it is a kennel dedicated to them. The kennel is filled with toys and treats for the strays. His motto is that “no business prospers without the well-being of the community.” His great grand uncle Jamsetji Tata who is also known as the father of Indian industry.  Doyen Jamsetji  Tata has emerged as the biggest philanthropist globally by donating 102 billion dollars. Tata company is ahead of people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. Tata Group established a 28-dollar Tata Scholarship Fund at Cornell University to provide financial support to undergraduate students from India.

Ratan Tata has greatly contributed to the development of the country by taking forward his family’s legacy. Under his leadership, the Tata group underwent a significant transformation. His vision and efforts helped the Tata Group evolve into a global conglomerate.
