8th April,2024, Mumbai: Renowned South and Hindi cinema director Priyadarshan has finished an enormous project to create an engrossing docuseries that chronicles the rich history of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, following the historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22.

The temple’s caretakers extended an invitation to Priyadarshan, who enthusiastically accepted the chance to lead this important endeavor. “The script piqued my curiosity much. The filmmaker emphasized the richness and importance of the story, saying, “It will showcase the history of the last 500 years and the poignant struggle for the return of Lord Ram to his sacred birthplace.”

Joining together with Doordarshan as the channel for the broadcast, Priyadarshan got involved in the production and spent 60 days painstakingly capturing the voyage of the temple. Insightful interviews, including one with Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, are featured in the documentary, providing a range of viewpoints on the historical significance of the temple.
Priyadarshan said of the difficulties faced during production
“It was more daunting than filmmaking.” We presented the historical tale accurately while carefully navigating touchy themes. This was the biggest obstacle, in fact.”
To enhance the storytelling experience, Priyadarshan added dramatic recreations in addition to interviews. Priyadarshan acknowledged that it was difficult to find qualified performers to play historical personalities such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Collector KK Nair, highlighting the painstaking attention to detail that goes into portraying important historical figures.
