CJP Chief Questions Bhagwat’s Gen-Z Outreach, Backs Protesters

Bhagwat’s speech on August 6 will kick-off IIMUN’s signature Annual Championship Conference, which would include debate on various issues both at the local and global level by participating students.

Bhagwat Advocated New Approach For Youth

Bhagwat had suggested that to engage with youth, a completely different approach would be needed to be adopted during the peak of student protests a month ago.

"When we were young, it was an era of obedience. That's not the case anymore. The new generation asks questions. We have to explain the reasoning to them," Bhagwat said.

He added, "We need to give them a lot of affection. We need to spend time with them. We need to communicate with them. We need to give the new generation a sense of belonging. Not dictation, but discussion. Not orders, but consensus." 

Dipke Says Youth Changed Political Communication

Dipke said the nation’s youth had even forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join social media. 

Dipke said, “These are the country’s youth who have compelled even Prime Minister Narendra Modi to post reels late at night. Mohan Bhagwat, too, now wants to engage with Gen-Z.”

He added, "Though it is late, they have understood that Gen Z cannot be ignored and dismissed, and we should have a dialogue with them. We have to talk with them. These youth are the future of the country.'' 

"But I would like to say that it will be even better if the faces (interacting with youngsters) are Gen Z or young. If people aged 70-80 are talking, it is good. But what will Gen Z get out of it? Gen Z needs young representation. If youth interacts with youth, it will be even better,'' he said.

CJP Backs Jharkhand Students’ Ongoing Protest

The CJP chief also threw his support to students of Jharkhand who were on an indefinite protest since July 29 at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium due to alleged leak of JPSC question papers, other recruitment exam-related anomalies.

"They are not allowed to pitch their tents, and there are no washroom facilities for them. The treatment in Jharkhand is similar to how we were treated at Jantar Mantar (in New Delhi last month). But we are there with the agitating students in Jharkhand. CJP stands with these agitators,'' he said.

The protesters have put forward their demand for an independent inquiry by a committee of retired judges from outside the state to look into the paper leaks and added the government was diluting the matter through the CID.
