Descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are contesting in Lok Sabha Election 2024. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj is contesting from Kolhapur Lok Sabha constituency and Udayanraje Bhosle is contesting from Satara Lok Sabha constituency. How Rich Is Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj?

Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj has entered the fray from Kolhapur Lok Sabha constituency on a Congress ticket. According to HT, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj has assets worth around Rs 343 crore. While his wife Yadnasenraje and Hindu undivided family have immovable and movable properties. According to the affidavit filed by him with the Election Commission, he has immovable property worth Rs 150 crore. A large part of it is inherited by them.

How Rich Is Udayanraje Bhosle?

Shahu Maharaj is one of the descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Another descendant of his, Udayanraje Bhosale, is trying his luck from the Satara Lok Sabha constituency. He is a BJP candidate. Udayanaraje Bhosle has declared wealth of Rs 226 crores. He has a debt of Rs 2.44 crore on his doi. This also includes a vehicle loan of Rs 31.64 lakh.

Shinde vs Shiv Sena in Kolhapur

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has fielded Sanjay Mandalik against Shahu Maharaj. Shahu Maharaj owns a 65,614 square feet Raj Mahal in the city. There is no crime against them. He has a life insurance policy worth Rs 75 lakh.

Shashikant Shinde Contesting Lok Sabha

Udayanraje Bhosle is currently an MP in the Rajya Sabha from the BJP . Sashikant Shinde, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) has made a stand against him. Udayanaraje has inherited a wealth of Rs 148.72 crore. He has declared total immovable property worth Rs 172.49 crore in his election affidavit. He owns commercial properties, agricultural plots and other assets in Satara, Solapur, Pune and other places. These include properties in Goa and a Volkswagen Polo car in the name of his wife.

Both the candidates want to serve the people of Maharashtra

Shahu Maharaj and Udayanraje Bhosale are contesting from two different seats from ideologically different parties, but both say they want to serve the people of Maharashtra.

During the campaign, Shahu Maharaj is focusing on the development of Kolhapur, while Udayanraje Bhosale is emphasising on how Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj worked for the upliftment of the people and also what has happened in the 10 years of BJP rule at the Centre.

Since both Udayanraje and Shahu Maharaj strictly follow Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s ideology of supporting all communities, they will have to lead the charge for their respective parties on the electoral field, as one is committed to secularism, while the other is to Hindutva.
