Mann Responds to Slap Incident

Earlier today, when a news journalist asked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann about his reaction to Kangana Ranaut being slapped by CISF officer Kulwant Kaur, and Kangana's comment that Punjabis are Khalistani, he responded by saying that Kangana had previously made many provocative remarks. He suggested that Kulwant Kaur must have had some anger due to those remarks, which led her to slap Kangana. Mann acknowledged that the incident shouldn't have happened but it did. He emphasized that whether one is a public figure, an elected MP, or a famous actor/film star, it is extremely wrong and mean to label all Punjabis as Khalistani and terrorists.

Punjab's Contribution to the Nation

He further elaborated that Punjab is a region that has historically helped India triumph over various invaders, including the Mughals and colonists. This is the same Punjab that feeds the entire nation. He proudly mentioned that this season, Punjab will provide 132 lakh liters tonnes of wheat and 220 lakh liters tonnes of rice to the whole country. He stated that Punjabis fill the stomachs of the entire nation and are still willing to make sacrifices. From Kargil to Jaisalmer, Punjabi soldiers can do anything for the nation, enduring extreme temperatures—from the freezing cold of Kargil to the scorching heat of over 50 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan's Ganganagar and Jaisalmer.

Rejection of Unfair Accusations

Mann reiterated that Punjabis have always fought for the country's independence and continue to serve the nation selflessly. He criticized Kangana's remarks, stating that it is deeply wrong to accuse Punjabis of being Khalistani on every issue. He pointed out that such accusations were also made when farmers protested, highlighting the unfairness of such claims.

Majithia Calls for Fair Investigation

Earlier, Bikram Singh Majithia, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Punjab who belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal and is the president of its Youth Wing, Youth Akali Dal, addressed the slap incident involving the famous actress and newly elected MP Kangana Ranaut in a interview. He questioned why only an FIR was filed against Kulwant Kaur, who slapped Kangana, and not against Kangana herself, who allegedly created the circumstances and provoked the security personnel. The security woman was immediately suspended, and later, an FIR was registered against her. However, no action was taken against Kangana for her provocative words, possibly because she is a Member of Parliament and a BJP member. Majithia emphasized that no party or politician is above the law, and therefore, a proper investigation needs to be conducted.
