Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a brand-new series on Disney+, wrapped up with an incredible Season 1 conclusion. Get all the information we currently know about the upcoming season of the mythological television series starring Greek gods, demigods, and monsters by reading on.

Lead actor Walker Scobell recently expressed his hope for a second season. The popular middle-grade books are set in a 21st-century universe where Greek gods are real, based on six fantasy novels by Rick Riordan. The story of 12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson, who has just learned of his divine abilities when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt, is told in the first season of the Disney+ Original series, which is based on The Lightning Thief. To find it and bring Olympus back to order, Jackson turns to his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Jeffries).

In an interview with TV Insider before the Season 1 finale, which debuted onDisney+ on January 30, Scobell expressed his optimism that the show will go on. He went on to say that he anticipates filming more underwater scenes for Season 2, which the 15-year-old actor finds a little nerve-wracking.

“My last day was all the underwater stuff. In Episode 4, after I fall off the [St. Louis] arch, and then in Episode 6, when I talk to the naiad, that was my last two days, completely underwater,” Scobell said. “Those were really fun, but I’m a little bit nervous for next season because — since I have to keep my eyes open [while filming underwater], on the second day, my eyes really started burning — I’ll probably have to do a week of that.”

Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, Scobell’s co-stars, also expressed their excitement to the platform about the new characters in Season 2, which include Tyson, the cyclops, and Thalia, Zeus’ “forbidden child.” The three said they were excited to see Dior Goodjohn and Charlie Bushnell’s roles as Luke Castellan and Clarisse La Rue grow.

Percy Jackson has not yet renewed but will surely have a second season based on the second novel ,”Sea Monsters”

Disney+ has not yet renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a second season. However, the creators of the Disney+ series said they intend to create five seasons — one for each of the books. If Season 2 receives a green light, the next season of Percy Jackson will explore the second novel, The Sea of Monsters.

The synopsis of The Sea of Monsters reads: “When Thalia’s tree is mysteriously poisoned, the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood begin to fail. Now Percy and his friends have just days to find the only magic item powerful to save the camp before it is overrun by monsters. The catch: they must sail into the Sea of Monsters to find it. Along the way, Percy must stage a daring rescue operation to save his old friend Grover, and he learns a terrible secret about his own family, which makes him question whether being the son of Poseidon is an honor or a curse.”

Executive producer Jon Steinberg confirmed to Deadline in December 2023 that there have been “discussions” about moving forward with another run. “I think everyone has a real hope that this will live a long and healthy life. Right now, we’re trying to deal with step one. But we’d be lying if we said there weren’t people who are thinking about step two right now,” he said.
