Rajasthan Royals (RR) have secured their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League 2024. The team defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 12 runs in the 9th match of the current season.

Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 185 for 5 in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi could only score 173 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Rian Parag scored 84 runs off 45 balls for Rajasthan, while Ravichandran Ashwin contributed 29 runs and Dhruv Jurel 20 runs. David Warner scored 49 runs for Delhi, while captain Rishabh Pant scored 28 runs. Rajasthan’s Yuzvendra Chahal and Andre Berger took 2 wickets each.

Sandeep Sharma conceded 13 runs in the 19th over

Sandeep Sharma’s over scored 13 runs. The team needed 33 runs in 2 overs. Tristan Stubbs started the over with a six off the first ball of Sandeep who came to bowl the over and a four off the second ball. A single came on the third ball. On the fourth ball, Akshar again scored a single run. Tristan came back to the crease on the fifth ball and then gave Akshar a strike off the last ball for a run. Akshar took two runs off the last ball.

Avesh saved 17 runs in the last over

A fuller length ball from Avesh Khan has given Rajasthan Royals their second win in a row in the current season. Delhi had to face defeat for the second time in a row. RR beat DC by 12 runs.

Sanju Samson said match was exciting

Rajasthan team captain Sanju Samson, who came to talk after winning the match, said that this match had become very exciting, sometimes it was going in our favor and sometimes it seemed to be going away but in the end we won, which made me happy. I am happy. Sanju further said that we had to send Rovman Powell to bat as an impact player but Ryan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer batted much better due to which he was not needed. While leaving, he said that Riyan Parag is a great batsman and I think he will do better for this team and the Indian team in future.

Rishabh Pant expressed disappointment

Delhi team captain Rishabh Pant, who came to talk after losing the match, said that I am very disappointed with my defeat. Pant further said that our bowlers had bowled very well for 15 to 16 overs but we gave away runs in the last few overs. While leaving, he said that he hopes that everyone performs better in the next match.

Player of the Match

The Player of the Match award was given to Riyan Parag for his excellent batting, after which he said that I am very happy that I have performed better for my team. Parag further said that I was very confident this season that I would do better. While leaving, he said that for the last few days I was ill and was lying in bed, but today I am fine and very happy.

In this 17th edition of the Indian T20 League, the home team has won the match for the 9th consecutive time.
