Ravichandran Ashwin will become the 77th cricketer in Test history to feature in 100 matches in the traditional format and the 14th from India. Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is scheduled to play his 100th Test match in the fifth and final game of the five-Test series at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. The milestone was achieved by England captain Ben Stokes in the third match of the series in Rajkot. Ashwin will become the 14th player from India and the 77th player overall in Test history to appear in 100 games in the conventional format. Cheteshwar Pujara was the last Indian player to accomplish this remarkable achievement in the second Test match of the 2023 Border-Gavaskar series in New Delhi.

Since making his debut in a home Test match against the West Indies in 2011, Ashwin has amassed 3309 runs in 140 innings, including five hundreds and fourteen fifties, while taking 507 wickets at a strike rate of 23.91 in 187 innings. The 37-year-old is a member of an exclusive group of Test all-rounders who have amassed 300 wickets and 3000 runs. The other Indian player on the list is the renowned Kapil Dev, who made 131 appearances and amassed 5248 runs and 434 wickets.

Ashwin has amassed 50 or more wickets in a single calendar year four times, making him the fifth-best bowler in the world. He has also recorded a double of a century and five-wicket haul in a single Test match.
