A Canadian travel influencer has sparked a heated discussion online after sharing his disappointing experience in Delhi while praising Mumbai for its welcoming atmosphere and respectful locals.
Influencer Claims He Faced Scams Every Day in Delhi
Steve, a Canadian content creator known online as Jetlag Warriors, posted a video on Instagram describing his visit to Delhi with his family. In the viral clip, he claimed that he encountered frequent scams and dishonest behaviour during his stay in the national capital.

Sharing his thoughts, Steve said that he had never felt so close to deciding not to return to a country because of the daily encounters with people he believed were trying to deceive him.
"Every Time I Reached for My Wallet, I Felt Scammed"
The influencer explained that whenever he questioned people about incorrect information or prices, many simply laughed it off rather than showing regret. He claimed that negotiating often involved being told things that were not true, making everyday interactions exhausting.
His comments quickly gained attention on social media, with many users sharing their own experiences and opinions.
Mumbai Gives the Family a Completely Different Experience
Despite his disappointment in Delhi, Steve said his opinion of India improved after visiting Mumbai. He revealed that his wife had long believed that different parts of India offered very different experiences.
Upon arriving in Mumbai, the family noticed a significant change. Steve praised the behaviour of taxi and auto-rickshaw drivers, saying they were polite and respectful.
He shared that several drivers simply offered rides and accepted rejection without repeatedly following or pressuring him, something he found refreshing compared to his previous experience.
Social Media Users React to the Viral Video
The video quickly attracted thousands of comments. While some users agreed with Steve's observations, others pointed out that experiences can vary from city to city.
Several commenters encouraged him to explore more destinations across India, particularly states in South India, which many described as tourist-friendly and welcoming.
Others stressed that one experience should not define an entire country and highlighted the diversity of cultures and people across India.
Video Sparks Debate About Tourist Experiences in India
Steve's viral video has reignited discussions about tourism, visitor experiences, and hospitality in different parts of India. While opinions remain divided, the conversation has encouraged many travellers to share their own stories and perspectives.
