The movie is said to be a love story. Set in modern times. A report had earlier said,” “It is a love story set in modern times. Sanjay Leela Bhansali doesn’t want to do period dramas for a while. The movie will be about two couples, and Alia Bhatt has already given her nod. If Ranbir and Vicky Kaushal also give their consent, the shoot will start by November 2024,”
It is the first time that the three actors are starring together. While Alia Bhatt has shared the screen with Vicky in Raazi and with Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra, Ranbir and Vicky have never featured in a film together.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has expressed a strong desire to move away from period dramas with a harsh tone. He has been thinking about writing a love story for some time now and has been considering it. SLB is eager to explore this genre and believes that the present is the ideal time to create a love narrative. The director was determined to cast Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the roles. The lives of two lovers are explored in the film’s narrative. According to the publication,” “Both Ranbir and Alia heard the narration and loved what they heard. Ranbir Kapoor to collaborate with SLB after 15 years
The film starring Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky will begin filming in a few months and be released on Christmas 2025. Following the actor’s 2007 debut in Saawariya, this will be SLB and Ranbir’s second joint project. Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali haven’t collaborated since they had a fallout during the making of Saawariya. Making his debut with the 2007 film, Ranbir has since never reunited with SLB. In Black (2005), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, Ranbir also worked as an assistant to the director. Now Ranbir and SLB will be working together after 15 years.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest OTT venture
Regarding work, SLB’s eagerly awaited online series Heera Mandi, produced in partnership with Netflix, is scheduled for release later this year. The life of courtesans in pre-independence India are the basis for the film starring Manisha Koirana, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Richa Chadha.
