Pakistan and the Taliban send their condolences to the families of the victims of the Odisha train tragedy

3rdJune 2023, Mumbai: Following a terrible quadruple train catastrophe in the Balasore region of Odisha that left more than 900 passengers injured and at least 290 dead, condolence letters have been flooding in from all over the world. On Saturday, Pakistan’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari sent condolences to the families of the deceased and wished those hurt in the train disaster a swift recovery.

Bhutto Zardari expressed her sadness at the horrific train accident’s high dead toll in a tweet. We send our sympathies to the victims’ families. I wish the injured person a quick recovery.

The Afghan Taliban’s ministry of international affairs also expressed its condolences to the grieving families.

“The train collision in eastern Odisha state of the Republic of India, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, saddens the ministry of foreign affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. MoFa sends its condolences to both the injured and the bereaved relatives of the victims, the ministry stated in a statement.

Video footage from the accident site showed derailed train coaches and damaged tracks, with rescue teams searching the mangled carriages to pull the survivors out and rush them to the hospital. People were seen searching for their relatives at the site and nearby hospitals.

Justin Trudeau, The Prime Minister of Canada, expressed sorrow over the deaths caused by the train disaster and sent his sympathies to the families of those who perished.

Justin Trudeau posted the following on his official Twitter account: “The images and news of the train crash in Odisha, India break my heart. My sincere condolences go out to those who lost loved ones, and I’ll be thinking of the injured. Canadians are standing with the people of India during this tough time.

US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti offered condolences to the families of victims who lost their lives in the train accident and said the US stands with India in this time of grief.

“On behalf of the US Mission in India, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic train accident in Balasore. We stand with India and the people of Odisha in this time of grief,” tweeted Eric Garcetti.
