1 August 2023, Mumbai: Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) took decisive action on Tuesday by attaching the property of a terrorist operating from Pakistan in Kupwara district, north Kashmir. The land measuring 6 Kanals and 3 Marlas, owned by Adul Rashid Qureshi alias Farooq Qureshi, was identified and seized following an extensive intelligence-driven investigation.

SIU’s Meticulous Investigation Leads to Property Attachment

The SIU, through meticulous investigations in connection with FIR No.276/2022 at Police Station Kupwara, successfully pinpointed and attached the terrorist’s property at multiple locations within the district’s Kachama village. The measures were taken under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act to disrupt his illicit network and limit his ability to perpetrate further acts of terror.

Farooq Qureshi: A Persistent Threat to Peace

The attached property belongs to Farooq Qureshi, also known as Farooq Qureshi, who has been a constant menace to the peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir. He fled to Pakistan in the early 1990s and currently operates as the launching commander for the Al-Barq terror outfit from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). His strategic involvement in multiple acts of terror has caused significant suffering and loss of innocent lives in the valley.
