9th October 2023, Mumbai: Bhandup police registered FIR against the neighbors who allegedly caught and abused a man identified as Bharat Ghadge who horrifically molested a woman.
Action in Bhandup: Uniting against Molestation
On October 6 in Bhandup’s Ramabai Nagar, a man named Bharat, allegedly entered a woman’s house and molested her, prompting her neighbors to intervene. Adding to this, the group of individuals caught the molester and both reportedly beaten him to the extent of verbal and physical abuse. Following this incident, the Bhandup police initiated legal action by registering an FIR against four individuals involved in the assault.
Hospitalized in Sion Hospital
The accused man’s brother informed the police that he received information from his brother’s friend regarding a vicious attack on his sibling, Bharat. A group of unidentified individuals reportedly assaulted Bharat with a bat and also kicked him severely. He was subsequently hospitalized at Sion Hospital, where doctors diagnosed major injuries to his chest and back.
Bharat Ghadge, The auto rickshaw driver ‘molester’
The Bhandup police department reported that the accused involved in the incidence was known to be Bharat Ghadge, a 42-year-old rickshaw driver. Allegedly, Ghadge just walked into a residence and molested a woman. Upon learning of the disturbing event , several residents of the neighborhood caught him by his guard and subjected him to a beating. During this incident, witnesses recorded videos that showed Ghadge in a semi nude state while a group verbally abused and assaulted him.

Dattatray Khandagle, the senior police inspector at Bhandup police, expressed that Ghadge, who had been hospitalized, is now in stable condition and out of danger. The police have taken action by filing an FIR against Ghadge for alleged molestation of a woman, as well as against the group of neighbors for assaulting him. The police department is currently investigating more about the incident and the outcome will surely come by quickly.
Ghagde is currently booked under Sections 354, 509 and 448 of the Indian panel code.
