Two siblings, Anjali Kumari (15) and Anshul Kumar (10), were found dead, their bodies charred on a burnt bed. The children’s mother, who works as a security guard at AIIMS Patna, came home to discover the horrifying sight. Lallan Gupta is the father of the children. Lallan Gupta works at the election office. The tragedy has not only shocked the parents. But it has also the entire neighbourhood. They are still struggling to believe what happened inside that small room.

Family Claims It Was No Accident

"How can children not run if the fire was sudden?" This question by the children's father raises deep doubts. Lallan Gupta told reporters that two or three unknown men were seen around the house before the children were found dead. He also added that if this was just an accident, at least one of the kids would have tried to escape or call for help. Instead, the bodies were found in the same room. The bodies were lying still. According to the family, someone killed the children. They believe that after killing, someone set the room on fire to erase all clues.

Police Searches for Clues, Keeps All Angles Open

Patna Police quickly began investigations. The police officer in charge said they received the first call on Thursday morning about the dead children. The room where the children were found had burn marks, and the bed they were lying on was mostly destroyed. The officer confirmed that a case has been registered.
